New Game Releases (April 2026) — Cheapest Countries to Buy Them

New releases almost never go on sale in their first month. But here's the thing: Steam regional pricing already creates gaps of 43–77% between the cheapest and most expensive country — right at launch. For April 2026's lineup, that's potentially tens of dollars saved per game without waiting for a single discount. We pulled prices across all 66 regions we track. Here's what the data shows.
What's Releasing This Month
April leans heavy on action and shooters — Pragmata, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, Road to Vostok, and Morbid Metal all fall in that camp. Strategy fans have Xenonauts 2 and ALL WILL FALL, while Invincible VS covers the fighting game crowd. The indie lineup rounds things out with sims, horror, and puzzle games. Here's the full breakdown:
s&box

The spiritual successor to Garry's Mod from Facepunch Studios, built on Source 2. s&box launches April 28 at a flat $20 — but regional pricing hasn't been published yet. This is common for games still in pre-release: Steam often rolls out localized prices closer to launch day. We'll update this page once regional prices go live. In the meantime, you can bookmark its comparison page to check back once prices appear.
Pragmata

Capcom's long-awaited sci-fi action game finally drops April 17. A disposable-arsenal shooter with hacking mechanics — think Binary Domain meets near-future Tokyo.

|---|---|
| US Price | $59.99 |
| Cheapest Region | |
| Most Expensive | |
| Max Savings | 50% |
At $60 US, this is a premium launch — but in China it's closer to $39. That's roughly $21 saved before any discount exists.
Xenonauts 2

The XCOM-inspired tactical strategy game left Early Access on April 2 with its full 1.0 launch. Three years of updates and 160,000+ copies sold during Early Access.

| US Price | $25.99 |

One of the biggest regional gaps this month. Ukraine's price is under $9 — less than a third of Switzerland's. Note: Xenonauts 2 already has a 35% launch discount applied (down from $39.99) — these regional prices stack on top of that.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire

A rubber-hose animation FPS set in a 1930s cartoon noir world. Launches April 16 on PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2.

| US Price | $29.99 |

| Most Expensive | |
| Max Savings | 67% |
Ukraine's price is under $14 — less than half of what Switzerland charges, and $16 cheaper than the US.
Invincible VS

A 3v3 tag fighter based on the Invincible universe, from the Killer Instinct team. Launches April 30 at a $49.99 base price.

|---|---|
| US Price | $49.99 |
| Cheapest Region | |
| Most Expensive | |
| Max Savings | 77% |
The biggest price gap of any April release. Pakistan's price is $16 vs Switzerland's $70 — that's over four times cheaper. Pakistan consistently ranks among the cheapest regions — it's also one of the cheapest for Fortnite V-Bucks.
Road to Vostok

A hardcore single-player survival FPS with permadeath, realistic ballistics, and dynamic weather. Launched April 7.

|---|---|
| US Price | $14.99 |
| Cheapest Region | |
| Most Expensive | |
| Max Savings | 71% |
Already cheap at $15 in the US — but Pakistan's price is $6. This price includes a 25% launch discount (down from $19.99), so the regional gap and the discount are stacking here.
Morbid Metal

A shapeshifting action rogue-lite published by Ubisoft. Chain combos across three heroes mid-fight. Released April 8.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| US Price | $13.49 |
| Cheapest Region | |

| Max Savings | 52% |
The smallest regional gap of the month at 52%, but Vietnam's $8.55 still saves you nearly $5 compared to the US price. Morbid Metal is also running a 25% launch discount (down from $17.99), making those regional prices even sweeter.

Hidden Indie Deals Worth Checking
The big releases get the headlines, but April's indie lineup has some of the best regional pricing we've seen. These smaller games fly under the radar — and the price differences are significant.
| Game | US Price | Cheapest | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
Darwin's Paradox! | $24.99 | 43% | |
Bus Bound | $29.99 | 64% | |
Samson | $24.99 | 63% | |
Lay of the Land | $17.99 | 60% | |
The Spotter: Dig or Die | $9.74 | 58% | |
ALL WILL FALL | $25.49 | 75% | |
The Occultist | $26.99 | 66% |
ALL WILL FALL stands out here — 75% cheaper in Pakistan than in Switzerland. That puts it in the same tier as Invincible VS for regional savings.
Why Game Prices by Country Vary So Much
If you're new to Steam regional pricing, here's the short version: Steam doesn't charge the same price everywhere. Publishers set different prices for each of the 66 regions based on local purchasing power, competition, and currency exchange rates.
The result is that the same game can cost $16 in Pakistan and $70 in Switzerland. It's not a bug — it's how Valve's pricing system is designed to make games accessible in different economies. Some publishers localize aggressively (creating huge gaps), while others barely adjust prices at all (leading to smaller gaps like Morbid Metal's 52%).
Currency fluctuations add another layer. When a local currency weakens against the dollar, prices in that country become even cheaper in USD terms — even if the publisher never changes the local price. This is why the cheapest country changes from game to game and month to month. If a Steam sale happens to land while these launch prices are live, the discounts stack — something we covered in detail in our Steam Spring Sale 2026 breakdown.
